Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.


•Acquisition, Installation, repair and preventative maintenance of IT Hardware under scope

•Provide IT Support via tickets logged in ServiceNow Ticketing System for local site and Region

•SMART Hands support for liaising with third party partners ie network, printing, security

•Proposes and implements solutions at the direction of the supervisor


•Ensuring site, regional and global SLA’s are met

•Inventory Management

•Participation in regional/global projects and initiatives as directed by supervisor

•Working with peers and colleagues within other IT Departments i.e. BEIT, Desktop, ITEX


•High School Diploma or equivalent apprenticeship in the field of IT


•Minimum one year experience in an IT Support Role


•Advanced English Language

•General knowledge of computing networking – pc, printer, server etc

•General knowledge of computer hardware – desktop, laptop, monitor, printer etc


•Mobile Phone troubleshooting

•Working within a production environment


•No travel expected however any participation in regional projects may have a small amount
