Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

Job Description

The Production and Material Planning Engineer plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient operation of the production process by overseeing production schedules, coordinating materials procurement, and optimizing inventory levels. This position involves meticulous planning, effective communication, and a keen understanding of production workflows and material requirements.

Key Responsibilities :

As Production Planning;

• Develop  and maintain  production schedules in line with customer demand
• Optimize resource utilization and minimize lead times
• Collaborate  with production teams closely  to ensure smooth execution  of production plans, address  any production issues or bottlenecks  
• Planning & reporting  the master production schedule according to the capacity constraints and line loading and customer order dating.
• Creation of the production orders in SAP, APO
• Monitoring the production and making the revisions in the plan when necessary.
• Preparing shipping plan  of the week
• Confirming customer orders  based on plant load
• Preparing shipping plan  of the week
• Preparing   estimated sales report.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams including Procurement ( GSM) ,Sales  ,   Regional Engineering and Customer Service to support overall business objectives and ensure alignment across departments.

 As Material Planning;

• Ensure material availability  for production continuity in line with customer expectations .
• Forecast material requirements  based on  sales forecasts and historical data and  active production plans .
• Coordinate and follow  with  vendors  to ensure timely delivery of materials .
• Monitor inventory levels and implement strategies to minimize excess inventory while preventing stockouts. Conduct regular inventory analysis to identify areas for improvement.
• Hardware orders planning , SAP alignment ,  order confirmation , PO follow up .
• Ensure data accuracy in SAP , stock corrections, Zman movements.
• PO  preparation ,  sending to vendor and follow up of confirmations.
• Digging consumption failures & collaboration with Engineering for right BOM calculations

 As General;

• Being a member of local and regional projects.
• KPI’s  target support & follow up
• Participating in the inventory counting activities (during the year & year-end counting).

Qualifications

• University degree from engineering (preferably from Industrial Engineering)
• Work experience in manufacturing companies will be an asset 
• SAP MM & PP module knowledge is an asset
• MS Office Applications (especially advanced  Excel , Macro ) knowledge is necessary
• Advanced level of written and spoken English is a must
• Strong planning, organization, problem analysis, decision making and communication skills.

• Residence in Kocaeli and Anatolian side of Istanbul is preferred
