Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.
Position Summary:
The Business Systems Analyst at the AO Phoenix site serves as a key liaison between plant operations, engineering, and IT. This role is responsible for analyzing, designing, and supporting business systems—particularly MES, SAP, and Power BI—to improve operational efficiency, data visibility, and decision-making across manufacturing and support functions.
Key Responsibilities:
Systems Analysis & Support
- Analyze business processes and system workflows to identify improvement opportunities.
- Support and maintain MES and SAP integrations, ensuring data accuracy and process alignment.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define system requirements and translate them into functional specifications.
Reporting & Data Visualization
- Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards and semantic models for production, quality, and engineering metrics.
- Consolidate data from multiple sources (MES, SAP, Excel, SQL Server) into unified reporting tools.
- Partner with stakeholders to ensure reports meet operational and strategic needs.
Business Process Integration
- Facilitate the integration of business systems with plant operations, including order tracking, batch management, and recipe validation.
- Support automation initiatives and digital transformation projects such as visual inspection, CNC tooling, and assembly optimization.
- Ensure system configurations align with corporate standards and local workflows.
Training & Documentation
- Provide user training and support for MES, SAP, and reporting tools.
- Document system processes, configurations, and troubleshooting guides.
- Act as a point of contact for system-related inquiries and escalations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Engineering, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in business systems analysis within a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in Power BI, SQL, and ERP/MES platforms (e.g., SAP, Ignition).
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced plant setting.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with Corning systems and platforms
- Familiarity with manufacturing workflows such as heat treat, plating, and batch tracking.
- Understanding of digital manufacturing initiatives and Industry 4.0 concepts.

The range for this position is $64,873.00 - $89,201.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
