The Global Supply Management (GSM) Function is recognized as a critical function for business success.  It delivers the training, tools and opportunities needed to create innovative solutions for the function & the corporation.  GSM has leading edge, effective processes to anticipate and exceed customer requirements.

 

Scope of Position:

Develop and execute plant logistics strategies and lead activities to manage freight, duty, warehousing, distribution, trade compliance and all associated elements of quality, cost, delivery to meet plant needs. Align to plant manufacturing, customer service and supply chain strategies, objectives, and reporting for performance and process improvement.   

 

Supports the plant in the management of all logistics functions and 3rd party service providers to deliver optimal cost, business value and results.  Works closely with the Global Supply Management organization and other corporate functions for resource allocation, support and governance of 3rd party services, contracts, rates and performance.  

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Meet the strategic needs of the plant as measured in logistics performance, cost, quality, service, and culture. 
  • Lead plant warehouse team to establish, manage and continuously improve the logistics operations. 
  • Manage 3rd party transportation, warehousing and distribution solutions based on current and future demand. 
  • Serve as the Trade Compliance representative for the manufacturing site to ensure processes are in place to keep Corning compliant with trade regulations and certifications (i.e. CTPAT). 
 

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (Technical, Business, or Supply Chain). 
  • 5+ years’ experience in manufacturing plant (operations, planning, quality, engineering, and/or procurement). 
  • Experience with international logistics and supply chain processes and systems. Asia experience preferred.
  • Experience with managing financials and spend management. 
  • Proven leadership and matrix management skills. 
  • Experience in leading projects for cost and performance improvements, new product or process innovation, and expanding digital capability.

  • Phoenix, Arizona, on-site
  • No travel required

The range for this position is $92,092.00 - $126,627.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position are dependent on hours worked and may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
