Role Purpose

Corning's Aerospace and Defense team is looking for a Maintenance Lead to drive equipment reliability at our Phoenix, AZ facility. In this first-shift role, you'll coordinate maintenance activities, lead work order prioritization, and partner closely with Operations and Engineering to maximize uptime and performance. Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and prioritize work orders in Maximo or a relevant Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), managing scheduling and execution for the assigned maintenance group
  • Maintain CMMS data including preventive maintenance (PM) job plans, asset records, labor accounts, and critical spare parts inventory to support equipment uptime
  • Provide advanced technical guidance for troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing CNC and industrial production equipment
  • Partner with Operations, Engineering, and Production Control to align maintenance schedules with production priorities and minimize downtime
  • Develop and update PM job plans and support Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) and equipment reliability improvement initiatives
  • Mentor and provide technical training to less experienced maintenance technicians

Experiences/Education - Required

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 3+ years of CNC or industrial equipment maintenance experience
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, machine repair manuals, and blueprints
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, PowerBI) and working knowledge of Maximo or a comparable CMMS
  • Experience coordinating and maintaining maintenance records, PM job plans, and work order data within a CMMS
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical issues and implement corrective actions
  • Aptitude with hand tools, precision measurement tools, and multimeters

Experiences/Education - Desired

  • Experience coordinating maintenance activities and providing technical guidance to other technicians
  • Hands-on experience with CNC equipment, machine monitoring systems, and Direct Numerical Control (DNC)
  • Knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, and related industrial systems and components
  • Experience supporting TPM, preventive maintenance planning, and equipment reliability improvement programs

The range for this position is $70,728.00 - $97,251.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
