Role Purpose
The Plant Manager will lead the facility in achieving operational excellence, ensuring the safe, efficient, and cost-effective production of high-quality products while fostering a positive work environment and driving continuous improvement. Plant managers serve as the key link between frontline operations and organizational objectives, balancing employee well-being with business goals to support sustainable growth and success.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute the plant objectives for safety, quality, delivery and cost.
- Develop and implement operating plans that meet key performance objectives.
- Drive continuous improvement for all the plant’s key performance metrics.
- Assure the success of manufacturing and engineering programs while considering cost, resources, and technical risk.
- Ensure Safety Compliance: Implement and uphold safety policies and procedures to maintain a safe working environment for all employees.
- Build effective relationships within the business, corporate leadership, and staff groups, and with key customers and suppliers where required.
- Manage Staff: Hire, train, develop, and evaluate plant personnel to build an effective team.
- Monitor Production Quality: Maintain high-quality standards by monitoring product quality and addressing any issues promptly.
- Control Costs and Budgets: Prepare and manage budgets, control operating costs, and seek cost-saving opportunities.
- Optimize Efficiency: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance productivity and reduce waste.
- Maintain Equipment: Oversee maintenance schedules and ensure all equipment is functioning properly to minimize downtime.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure the plant complies with all relevant local, state, and federal regulations.
- Inventory Management: Supervise inventory levels and coordinate with supply chain teams for timely procurement of materials.
- Reporting and Communication: Generate operational reports, communicate results to senior management, and address any issues impacting plant performance.
- Build a sustainable culture characteristic of Corning Values and continuous improvement in support of the business.
- Champion and sponsor the innovation process for new product and process development.
- Foster Employee Engagement: Promote a positive workplace culture by encouraging teamwork, recognizing achievements, and supporting professional development.
- Risk Management: Identify potential risks to operations, develop mitigation strategies, and implement contingency plans to safeguard plant assets and personnel.
Experiences/Education - Required
- B.S. or equivalent technical degree.
- Progressive responsibilities in manufacturing and engineering roles in plants and divisions.
- Experience in driving improvement, efficiency and cost reduction programs in manufacturing.
- Experience in leading departments or organizations in meeting continuous improvement goals, step change performance improvements, innovation, expanding technical capability, work redesign or other change efforts.
- Experience building and managing a cohesive staff and establishing collaborative relationships across functional areas.
- Demonstrated track record of growing and placing talent.
- Experience leading the build-out, expansion, or scale-up of manufacturing operations.
- Experience in high volume assembly manufacturing processing.

The range for this position is $184,563.00 - $253,775.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position are dependent on hours worked and may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
