Purpose of the Position:

The Process and Compliance engineer is an essential member of the Division Engineering Technical Community and a key interface for Product Design Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering and Quality workflows. This function facilitates NPI (New Product Introduction) and supports compliance initiatives to ensure the ongoing delivery of differentiated MW products that meet customer expectations.

 

Scope of Position:

Division Engineering role within the Product Design Team. Supports MFG from a Division Engineering position. Initiates and manages projects. Defines and improves processes. Influence cultural change.

 

Responsibilities:  

  • Identify existing processes for review and improvement
  • Troubleshoot process and equipment issues, identify root cause, and implement corrective action with support of plant personnel
  • Coordinate and utilize methodical approach and appropriate tools and problem solving techniques such as MEE, KT, DOE, and DMAIC
  • Organize and execute management of change (MOC)
  • Areas to consider: Prototype
  • Develop new processes for introduction of new equipment
  • Provides problem solving support to production and development operations on new or undocumented issues
  • Use technical knowledge to build fundamental understanding of key process steps
  • Research new equipment
  • Develop associated processes for transfer to MFG
  • Train appropriate manufacturing personnel on new equipment and processes
  • Areas to consider: New Laser Machining Platform
  • CMM identification and implementation, Solder dip, vision system based inspection
  • Review existing business processes and identify and implement improvements, compliance
  • Coordinate steering team, Communicate strategy
  • Consider aspects of compliance, Contract review, SCD review, information flow-down, MIL-SPEC adherence
  • Map/design a process flow, build compliance system in coordination with QA; Build RASCI
  • Gain agreement on work assignments and assigned personnel

Education & Experience:

• BS in Engineering - Mechanical, Electrical, Optical or related field

• 3+ years’ experience with executing technical programs & project management in a manufacturing environment

• Solid understanding of MS Excel, including formulas and graphing functions, word and power point.

• Statistical analysis skills in descriptive statistics, capability analysis, control charting, and design of experiments

• Use of rational processes for problem solving, such as MEE

 

Travel Requirements:

• Less than 10% travel for this role
