The Global Supply Management (GSM) Function is recognized as a critical function for business success. It delivers the training, tools and opportunities needed to create innovative solutions for the function & the corporation. Role Purpose
Responsible for operationalizing procurement strategies to manage plant-level sourcing of quality products, equipment and services. Responsible for assured supply of materials, minimizing inventories, optimum material utilization, and supplier performance while continuously identifying and implementing opportunities to lower total cost of ownership and mitigate risk (e.g. on-time, best price, high quality).
Key Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Deploys Sourcing strategies in the plant to enable purchasing products or services, aligned with organizational objectives and sourcing strategies.
- Supervises/manages personnel as assigned (e.g. procurement site lead and coordinators, interns, etc.).
- Manage suppliers, consultants, etc. and interfaces with appropriate departments to ensure delivery of quality materials, components, equipment, and services while ensuring assurance of supply and best cost position scenarios.
Required Experience/Education:
- Bachelor's in Supply Chain Management or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in manufacturing – operations, planning, engineering, supply management, or procurement.
- Demonstrated decision making, influencing, negotiation, and conflict management/problem solving skills and ability to drive results through others (inside the function and outside the function)
- Proficiency in procurement tools and systems, such as SAP.
- Contracting (negotiation, writing, and management)
- Commodity/Supply Chain expertise
- Global procurement/business knowledge and cross-cultural agility. Asia experience preferred.
Desired Skills:
Analytical and Research Skills: The ability to analyze market trends, evaluate supplier performance, and assess cost structures. This includes thorough research, data interpretation, and making data-driven decisions.
Negotiation and Persuasion: Effective negotiation skills to secure favorable terms and conditions with suppliers. This involves excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships.
Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with relevant technologies and procurement software, such as e-procurement tools, supply chain management systems, and data analysis software.
Supplier Relationship Management: Managing and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers to ensure consistent quality and reliability.
Cost Savings and Risk Mitigation: Developing and implementing strategies to achieve cost savings and mitigate risks in the supply chain.
Compliance and Ethical Standards: Ensuring compliance with procurement policies, relevant laws, and ethical standards.
Communication and Presentation Skills: Strong communication skills to effectively present information and recommendations to senior management and other stakeholders.
Collaboration and Teamwork: The ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to support category strategies and deliver value-driven sourcing solutions.
Location / Travel Requirements:
- Phoenix, Arizona - onsite
- Up to 25% travel, domestically and internationally (mainly to visit suppliers)
This position does not support immigration sponsorship.
The range for this position is $131,938.00 - $181,415.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position are dependent on hours worked and may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
