This is a 12 hour shift position (4-3-3-4)

Scope of Position:

  • Responsible for the development and implementation of activities in production area(s) to meet production goals, quality, and cost objectives.
  • Prioritizes production schedules based on product introduction, equipment efficiency
  • Directs subordinates to achieve assignments using established guidelines, procedures, and policies.
  • May interact with subordinate supervisors, outside customers, and functional peer groups at management levels.
  • Interaction normally requires the ability to gain cooperation of others, conducting presentations of technical information concerning specific projects/schedules, etc.
  • Provides immediate supervision to a unit or group of employees, assigning tasks, and checking work at frequent intervals.
  • A portion of time is normally spent performing individual tasks related to the unit or sub-unit.
  • Encompasses the direction and inspection of the performance of individuals who assemble components in an industrial environment.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive department strategies based on plant objectives and provide guidance and direction for the successful implementation of those plans.
  • Manages the shift activities of the production departments
  • Responsible for monitoring and improving performance metrics for multiple production departments.
  • Conducts daily department meetings with cross functional representation
  • Works within department and other functional groups on resolution of quality, performance, or downtime issues in a timely fashion.
  • Participates or leads cost reduction projects to meet production goals, quality, and cost objectives.
  • Support the plant’s change management program
  • Provides training to employees as needed on new processes, procedures, or equipment.
  • Ensure employee focus through communication of priorities.
  • Create and maintain positive, motivating employee relations aligned with corporate and business values.
  • Sustain open communications with employees both one-on-one and in group forums.
  • Maintain and implement all required safety regulations and housekeeping standards on a consistent basis.
  • Assists and/or leads in the performance of investigations and resolutions of manufacturing issues that affect product or process performance.
  • Support the ISO 9000 and AS9100 standards.
  • Attends and participates in necessary plant meetings.

 

Travel:

  • Travel may be required (5-10%)

 

Required Education & Experience:

  • BS/BA degree in Engineering or Supply Chain Management. Equivalent experience will be considered. 
  • 2+ years quality, engineering, or operations experience within a manufacturing environment.
  • 2+ years of managerial or supervisory experience.
  • Data analysis skills to chart and interpret data to make decisions / understand relationships.
  • Excellent people skills and the ability to interact effectively with a diverse employee group across many levels of management.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office tools, electronic document management and ERP systems.

 

Desired Skills/Attributes:

  • Supervision of a manual assembly or machining process
  • Strong organizational and presentation skills
  • Performance Excellence experience preferable Green Belt certified in a methodology (DMAIC, 6-Sigma, Lean)
  • Knowledge of SAP ERP system

The range for this position is $61,849.00 - $88,000.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
