The Specialty Materials segment manufactures products that provide more than 150 material formulations for glass, glass ceramics and fluoride crystals to meet demand for unique customer needs. Consequently, this segment operates in a wide variety of commercial and industrial markets that include display optics and components, semiconductor optics components, aerospace and defense, astronomy, ophthalmic products, telecommunications components and cover glass that is optimized for portable display devices.

 

Shift Information: 1st Shift, Monday-Friday, 5:00am - 1:00pm

 

The purpose of this position is: Perform quality dimensional and visual inspection of precision machined components by using various measuring devices to ensure compliance with engineering specifications.

 

This position includes significant duties such as:         

  • Verify conformance of low complexity products using various inspection instruments (micrometers, calipers, depth micrometers, optical comparators, thread gages, dial indicators, fixed gages, and cylindrical plug gages).
  • Read and interpret production travelers and engineering specifications to ensure product conformance at each manufacturing product sequence.
  • Document part characteristics and measurements on inspection history cards during first article inspections and other inspection sequences.
  • Record data from inspection history cards on inspection files and maintain accurate and legible inspection records.
  • Load and/or transport part containers utilizing a forklift, hand truck or manual/motorized pallet jack to assigned locations.
  • Verify production process and create product discrepant material reports in the quality database.
  • Utilize computer programs to search for part processes and procedures.
  • Maintain safety and quality standards by using acceptable housekeeping practices on equipment and work area. The above description covers the most significant duties performed but does not exclude other occasional work assignments not mentioned.
  • DMR knowledge
  • Basic Keyence experience
  • Basic CMM experience

 

Working Conditions:

  • Working at a table with small parts, tools, and a microscope for the duration of the shift

 

Education/Experience:

  • High School or General Education Diploma
  • 1 year experience

The range for this position is ​$20.50 hourly rate - $23.38 hourly rate.  Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
