Role Purpose

Reporting directly to the plant quality manager, this position promotes a culture of quality, operational excellence, and continuous improvement throughout a high-tech plant environment that is a leader in the RF connector arena. Production environments include precision machining of optical array components, RF connector housing fabrication, plating, precision component fabrication, and precision assembly. This position is responsible for effective application and development of the plant quality management systems (QMS) and associated improvement efforts through significant individual contributions and leadership of a team of QC inspectors and metrology personnel.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise quality inspectors in a multi-shift environment, maintaining key elements of the QMS, including FAIs and documentation.
  • Oversee inspection, testing, metrology, and calibration to ensure operational readiness.
  • Partner with leadership to drive plant goals related to quality, cost, WIP, safety, and responsiveness.Lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce variability and improve manufacturing performance.
  • Report on WIP inspections, investigations, and corrective actions to leadership.
  • Support ISO 9001 / AS9100 compliance, including internal audits.Review SOPs, specifications, and technical documentation; support new product releases and process updates.
  • Collaborate on SPC program improvements with engineering and operations.
  • Evaluate product/process changes impacting quality, compliance, or customer requirements.
  • Assign team priorities, resolve conflicts, and ensure focus on critical tasks.Develop team capability and build cross-functional partnerships.
  • Translate customer requirements into actionable quality standards.

Experiences/Education - Required

  • B.S. in Engineering or Science
  • Minimum of 5+ years quality, engineering or operations experience within a manufacturing environment -  Aerospace & Defense preferred.
  • At least 3+ years of managerial or supervisory experience, with the ability to effectively coach, mentor, and lead direct reports, providing clear direction and establishing expectations.

Experiences/Education - Desired

  • Strong knowledge base in all aspects of Quality including validation, calibration, and quality control.
  • Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office tools, electronic document management and ERP systems.
  • Structured problem solving experience (DMAIC, 6-Sigma, Lean, Shainin).
  • Data analysis skills using statistical analysis software to chart and interpret data to make decisions / understand relationships.
  • Working knowledge of mechanical design and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
  • Database programming and querying skills, knowledge of SAP, Power Bi, FWD is preferred.
  • Ability to develop powerful spreadsheets, or experienced in KT, TOC, or TRIZ tools.
  • Concise communication/ presentation skills (verbal and written) and organizational skills with strong attention to detail – bi-lingual in Spanish a plus.
  • Ability to adapt leadership and task management style to fit a variety of manufacturing phases encompassing early-stage concept design to manufacturing ramps and mature full-scale production.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a heavily matrixed team environment demonstrating strong facilitation skills, ability to compromise, yet hold true to internal standards.
  • Ability to interact with internal and external suppliers and customers to resolve concerns.

The range for this position is $112,328.00 - $154,451.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
