Position Description Scope of Position (i.e. projects involved with and role within group): In this intern role, you will assist the plant engineering team in their day to day activities on new production equipment. We look for you will support the plant engineering team and perform various activities that range from monitoring process performance to troubleshooting issues on the line, to analyzing data sets and presenting such learning. You will also assist the team in characterizing new equipment performance and documentation of the process.

 

Day to Day Responsibilities:

  • Work will include project and process integration activities.
  • You will work in a team-based environment and participate as an individual contributor.
  • We are looking for an applicant with a strong level of technical curiosity and who can deliver creative solutions to technical challenges.
  • Work under the direction of an engineer to:
  • Become familiar with manufacturing equipment and processes.
  • Develop experimental plans, assist with preparation, data collection and analysis.
  • Support sample collection, measurements/inspections and processing.
  • Integrate various processes and develop wafer fabrication process flows
  • Improve various wafer Fab processes for manufacturability and yield improvement
  • Conduct process capability analysis and failure mode analysis.
  • Document process specifications and train production personnel when needed.

Education and Experience (minimum required for consideration)

  • Prefer Engineering disciplines such as: Material Science, Electrical, Chemical or Mechanical Engineering.

 

Required Skills (These are skills that candidates MUST possess)

  • Pending Junior or Senior Engineering major.
  • Prefer Engineering disciplines such as: Material Science, Electrical, Chemical or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0.

Desired Skills (These are skills that would be nice for candidates to possess)

  • Semiconductor/MEMS Process Experience in UCSB Class or Internship.
  • Semiconductor/MEMs/Device Physics coursework.

 

Soft Skills (Communication/Team/Leadership)

  • Typical soft skills very important. Must learn quickly, be proactive/self-driven.
