Corning’s Display Technologies segment manufactures glass substrates for active matrix liquid crystal displays (“LCDs”) that are used primarily in LCD televisions, notebook computers and flat panel desktop monitors.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Assures safety of operators and equipment and Compliant with safety and environmental regulations.
  • Supervise Facility FMCS system which including PLC, HMI, iFix and database system management.
  • Responsible for Instrument selection and verification and maintenance in normal operation.
  • System standard operation procedure (SOP) and standard operation setting (SOS) establishing
  • Implements and documents material, process and/or equipment changes (Follow PCPD).
  • Define maintenance and operations strategy for managed equipment and systems.
  • Creating control system related spare parts and maintenance plan.
  • Implement PM/PdM activities and achieve PM/PdM performance.
  • Performs routine preventive maintenance on plant equipment including but not limited to operating adjustments and calibrations on equipment, basic mechanical and electrical work and cleaning, lubricating and replacing equipment parts.
  • PLC and iFix programming / Alarms management in normal operation.
  • Power BI platforms management (Data analysis) and digital transformation programs development and implementation.
  • Develop Facility process description and control loop.
  • Continuous improvement in FMCS and low voltage system.
  • Executes cost reduction and improvement (a-DMAIC) projects linked with plant priorities.
  • Project management implementation in capital projects.
  • Support operation team trouble shooting and provide training as needed.
  • Troubleshooting material, process and equipment issues, identifies root cause and implements corrective action.
  • Promotes positive relationships and communicates effectively and courteously with coworkers, and outside plant associates.

 

Knowledge/Skills/Ability

  1. Familiar with the practice of equipment development, design, selection, procurement, start-up and debugging
  2. Read blueprints or technical diagrams
  3. Knowledge of AB PLC, iFix and FMCS system integration
  4. Understand PLC control cabinet architecture
  5. Good programming and network systems skills
  6. Knowledgeable of low voltage control system equipment (MCCS, VFD, etc.)
  7. Knowledge of database, data analysis, Power BI, Machine learning, basic AI implementation
  8. Familiar with P&ID drawing
  9. Knowledge of VBA configuration
  10. Experienced in instrumentation
  11. Knowledge and understanding of the major facility systems
  12. Project management skill
  13. Good English reading/writing skills
  14. Master Microsoft office tools

 

Education

Required:

  • Bachelor of Science and engineering (Electrical or automatic control engineering)

 

Desired:

  • Master of Science and engineering (Electrical or automatic control engineering)

 

Experience

Required:

  • 1~5 years of experience in the facility low voltage and control system
  • 1~5 years of experienced AB PLC hardware and software maintenance
  • 1~5 years of experienced iFix or HMI programming.
  • High/Low voltage operating license (高压电工作业,低压电工作业)

 

Desired:

  • Project management experience
  • VBA programming capability
  • Database, data analysis, Power BI, machine learning, basic AI implementation, etc.
