Corning’s Display Technologies segment manufactures glass substrates for active matrix liquid crystal displays (“LCDs”) that are used primarily in LCD televisions, notebook computers and flat panel desktop monitors.

Day to Day Responsibilities:

  • Establish goals and objectives in conjunction with facility group leaders and manage the engineering activities in electrical system to achieve the said objectives.
  • Conduct high voltage system (GIS / TR) annual maintenance activities
  • Performs routine preventive maintenance on plant equipment to include: operating adjustments and calibrations on equipment, basic mechanical and electrical work and cleaning, lubricating and replacing equipment parts
  • Define maintenance and operations strategy for emergency generator, oil/dry type transformer, HV/LV, VCB,ACB and power distribution system
  • Promotes positive relationships and communicates effectively and courteously with coworkers, and outside plant associates
  • To have clear understanding of the Main Power, Emergency Power, and Lighting Systems within the Plant.
  • To manage necessary contractor Controls resources to support Facility objectives.
  • To ensure Electrical and Power System drawings are archived properly
  • To Provide higher level troubleshooting, to ensure timely solutions of system or equipment issues
  • Provide professional engineering and manufacturing skills and knowledge (understands theories and fundamentals), and capable of root cause analysis, and put permanent solutions in place.
  • To report out the issues with professional data analysis and clear logical process.
  • Identifies, justifies, and implements reliability improvement projects
  • Meet all SHE requirements.
  • Design, install, debug and or specifies new equipment or modifies existing equipment to continuously improve system reliability
  • To have electrical knowledge related to all facilities equipment within the Plant.
  • Meet Facility department requirement and conduct rigorous change control and clear communication with all.
  • To establish and update system SOS/Base Case/PM/ER SOP as needed and insure all PM were performed rightly by technicians.
  • To assist with cross function for some issues related to facilities.
  • To development training materials and provide training to technicians.

 

Knowledge/Skills/Ability:

  • Familiar with the practice of equipment develop, design, select, purchase, start-up and debug
  • Read blueprints or technical diagrams
  • Good trouble shooting skill in electrical domain.
  • Ability to power system maintenance works management
  • Knowledge of power coordination
  • Knowledge of diesel generator and ATS.
  • Can work independently by him/herself and also work well within team group
  • Good communication skills coordination, and follow-up ability
  • Familiarized with electrical related code
  • High voltage GIS/transformer maintenance experiences
  • Good English capability

 

Education

Required:

  • Bachelor of Science and engineering (Electrical engineering)

 

Desired:

  • Master of Science and engineering (Electrical engineering)

 

Experience

Required:

  • 3~5 years of high voltage Electrical system(GIS) operation experience repairing and/or installing equipment
  • 3~5 years of experienced in Electrical system maintenance
  • 3 years of experienced in diesel generator system
  • High/Low voltage operating license (高压入网证, 高压电工作业, 低压电工作业)
