Function/Dept Purpose Statement (What does this org/team “do”):
•Purchases machinery, equipment, tools, raw material, parts, services, and supplies necessary for ongoing operations.
•Involves overall planning, implementation, and optimization of all activities and support required for the delivery of products and services to our Business Partners, from materials/service acquisition through distribution.
•Primary areas include procurement and contracting, materials management, logistics operations, supply intelligence, supplier management, transportation and distribution
Position Responsibilities (What does the incumbent “do” in the job? to the extent possible, define role during build and in steady state):
•Sources and purchases machinery, equipment, tools, raw materials, packaging materials, parts, services, and/or supplies necessary for operation of an organization.
•Compiles and analyzes statistical data to determine feasibility of buying products and to establish price objectives.
•Compiles information to keep informed on price trends and manufacturing processes. Confers with suppliers and analyses suppliers' operations to determine factors that affect prices and determines lowest cost consistent with quality, reliability, and ability to meet required schedules.
•Reviews proposals, negotiates prices, selects or recommends suppliers, analyzes trends, follow up orders placed, verifies delivery, approves payment, and maintains necessary records.
•May also be responsible for some material planning, depending on the needs of the operation. Assignments are received in task-oriented terms.
•Communicates with Division GSM & Category Management team.
•Provides direction to subordinates using established policies and precedents. Work is reviewed for soundness of judgment and overall quality and efficiency.
•Administers and executes policies and procedures that typically affect individual subordinate employees.
•Administers and executes material and service contracts with suppliers.
•Accomplishes tasks mainly through direct supervision employees. Monitors daily operations of a unit and actively assists, or provides direction to, subordinates as required.
•May perform, especially in staff or professional groups, ongoing operational tasks of organizational units. Ensures that projects are completed on schedule following established procedures and schedules.
•Erroneous decisions or recommendations or failure to achieve results might cause delays in program schedules and result in the allocation of more resources.
•Majority of coordination is on internal basis with subordinates and supervisors at equivalent level or one level higher.

•Proficiency in:

Required Knowledge & Abilities (what does the person need to “know” / degree / etc.):
•Mechanical/Electrical Engineering degree from a reputed university with 10-15 Years of experience in required field.
•Experience in global sourcing and international suppliers
•Knowledge of sustainability and responsible sourcing
•Six Sigma / Lean experience
