Job Description: Play a leading role in Layer 1 architecture and software development for 5G wireless products. The ideal candidate has a wireless communication systems background, a passion for building real-world carrier-grade communication systems, and industry experience developing PHY layer software in virtualized general purpose processors (x86).



• Design, develop, enhance, and maintain wireless Layer 1 and embedded software for 5G radio access networks and other advanced technologies.

• Understand PHY-layer procedures, expected behavior, and typical performance tradeoffs, especially as they relate to PHY and overall system performance. • Participate in architecture, design, and code reviews and provide peer feedback on a continuous basis.

• Lead Layer 1 team in developing best-in-class carrier grade vRAN based PHY solution for 5G based on an x86 platform.

• Understand DU requirements and solution for hosting on container-based cloud-native environments.

• Debug complex issues seen during QA testing, at customer field trials, and at live customer deployments. Requirements:

• Proven work experience on working on C/C++ applications running on real-time linux kernel on x86 environment.

• Understanding of wireless communications and MAC/scheduler layers.

• Ability to build support software around 3rd party real-time business logic.

• Ability to develop and document application configuration management for multi instance deployment.

• Strong understanding of Git/SVN workflows and ability to rebase and resolve merge conflicts with ease.

• Strong understanding of real-time constraints.

• Good understanding of DPDK framework.

• Good understanding of containers.

• Basic understanding of Kubernetes and orchestration.
