India Software Development Center

Wireless Software Center of Excellence in Gurgaon, India, augments the existing R&D centers in California and Tel Aviv. Engineers at the India Development Center are working closely with the teams in the US and Israel for developing fully virtualized and cloud-managed innovative solutions for Public and Private 5G Enterprise Networks. Job Description

The Senior/Staff Systems Engineer (Layer 1) is responsible for design, development, and maintenance of Corning’s 4G & 5G radio access network and related subsystems. The role demands strong work ethic, drive, responsiveness, and eagerness to learn. Good communication and team working skills are a must.


Job Responsibilities

  • Participate in Corning Wireless system architecture and RAN solution design, associated reviews and provide peer feedback.
  • Work on the design and software implementation L1 NR Radio Access Network features and algorithms
  • Develop L1 focused link level and system level simulation solutions for analyzing NR Radio Access system, features, and algorithm performance
  • Run and analyze link and system level radio access simulations
  • Provide system engineering support for internal wireless and platform software development teams in implementing new and improved RAN features and algorithms


Technical Skills Required

  • Relevant Industry Experience
    • 6-10 years of hands-on experience of developing wireless products involving UMTS, LTE and/or NR radio interface protocols
    • Strong knowledge of 3GPP specifications and protocols, particularly NR PHY & MAC
    • Proven ability to develop and use link - and system-level simulation tools
    • Hands on experience in setting up, operating, and troubleshooting lab system setups involving servers, Linux, software functions, switches, RF components, signal and spectrum analyzers
    • Understanding of virtualized software solutions
  • SW and Programming Skills
    • Strong in embedded C and C++
    • Stellar debugging skills using various debugging tools
  • Product Dev. Process & Environment
    • Proactive problem solver with attention to detail and methodical approach to systems engineering.
    • Well-versed in system design and development best practices
    • Experience of working in an Agile product development environment (DevOps)
