Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.
Role Purpose
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Project Leader for our Department of External Manufacturing in EMEA. This position requires an individual with a strong understanding of contract manufacturing, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Supervision and Management:
- Supervise all aspects of project management for external manufacturing in the EMEA region and globally.
- Ensure projects/programs are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
- Lead project planning sessions, set project goals, and assign tasks to team members.
- Detailed Project Planning and Assignment:
- Develop detailed project plans to monitor and track progress.
- Assign project tasks based on staff members’ individual strengths, skill sets, and experience levels.
- Utilize project management tools and techniques to manage project timelines and deliverables.
- Project Tracking and Reporting:
- Track the progress of projects/programs.
- Maintain project documentation and prepare comprehensive reports.
- Conduct regular status meetings and update stakeholders on progress.
- Project Execution:
- Execute project plans and ensure that all tasks are completed accurately and efficiently.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve Project issues and remove barriers to project success.
- Implement best practices and process improvements to enhance project execution and efficiency.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or related field or a similar/comparable qualification
- Experience as a project and/or program Leader in manufacturing
- Knowledge of contract manufacturing, supply chain management, and quality control
- Ability to manage multiple projects with strong project management skills
- Team management abilities
- Proficiency in project management software and MS Office
- Strong negotiation and relationship management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Willingness to travel to meet with manufacturing partners
Work Environment:
This role may require occasional travel within the EMEA region as well as globally, to meet with external manufacturing partners and inspect project sites.
The position is based in a standard office environment, with some flexibility for remote work.
