Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

Electrical Engineer Network Hardware (m/f/d)

Corning Optical Communications offers a comprehensive range of fiber optic and copper product solutions for telecommunications networks. Our customer-focused solution portfolio includes cable, interconnect and related technologies, network services such as network design, project management, installation and maintenance, component rental, and training programs.

Area of responsibility:

• Support of hardware components for copper-based networks
• Implementation, integration, testing and validation of products
• Consulting and technical support of application engineering and product line engineering
• Cooperation with internal development departments and suppliers
• Preparation of technical documentation

Qualification:

• University degree in electrical / telecommunications engineering or comparable training
• Expertise in the field of communications and telecommunications technology
• Experience and know-how in the field of copper connection technology
• Knowledge of cable-based infrastructures (LAN/WAN) and their components
• Knowledge of relevant standards and regulations
• Very good German and English skills, spoken and written, any other language – especially French – would be a plus
• Very good user knowledge of MS Office (especially in Excel, macro programming)
• Desirable knowledge:
  • Analysis and simulation tools
  • Testing and qualification experience
