Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify and prioritize the plant´s current and future talent Requirements which have an effect on the operational objectives
  • Partner with the Talent Acquisition Team and the hiring managers to identify and implement a compelling employee value proposition
  • Co-operate with managers to identify employees’ development gaps and implement targeted development plans that addresses these gaps in a timely manner Corning Restricted
  • Maintain performance management and reward processes / practices to drive required levels of employee accountability for performance results and ensure retention of talents
  • Point of contact for all topics around employee relations including works council
  • Coach managers and supervisors in developing, implementing and maintaining a positive work environment
  • Manage training and development activities including training needs analysis, training plan development and deployment. 
  • Manage & maintain programs to support a strong talent pipeline
  • Travel Requirements: EMEA – 10% of time

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or Organization Development, labor relations or equivalent
  • Master’s degree in related area and/or HR certifications is a benefit
  • At least 5 years of HR experience; preferred in a Manufacturing environment; experience in an international company 
  • Fluent in English (verbal and written)
  • Fundamental knowledge of German labor law and co-determination
  • Solid understanding of German social insurance system related to payroll & tax
  • Team leading skills
