Corning’s Glass Technologies segment manufactures chemically strengthened cover glass, such as Gorilla® Glass® for the consumer electronics market and glass substrates for active matrix liquid crystal displays (“LCDs”) that are used primarily in LCD televisions, notebook computers and flat panel desktop monitors.

 

Scope of Position:

  • Provide leadership and vision to the electrical maintenance department to meet plant and department objectives and initiatives.
  • Direct all electrical maintenance activities to including scheduling, training, work coordination and process improvement in a cost effective and safe manner.

 

Day to Day Responsibilities:

  • Establish goals, objectives and priorities for electrical maintenance personnel which are consistent with maintenance department and plant objectives.
  • Supervise electrical maintenance personnel for a 24 hour 7 day operation including shift electrical maintenance support.
  • Hire, train, and develop electrical maintenance personnel.
  • Measure maintenance effectiveness through metrics and implement improvement plans. Drive improvement through system improvements, root cause analysis, trend analysis, preventive and predictive maintenance.
  • Working closely with facilities engineering department develop and implement a long term maintenance plan for facilities switchgear and electrical infrastructure.
  • Develop and achieve cost center budget objectives for expense and capital expenditures.
  • Coordinate outside resourcing as the need arises to support internal project work.
  • Ensure compliance with all Company, State and Federal regulatory requirements.
  • Optimize work effectiveness through coordination with Manufacturing, Engineering and outside contractors.
  • Maintain a safe and professional working environment.
  • Coordinate repair parts ordering, stocking and obsolescence with plant procurement group.

 

Required Education & Experience:

  • We require a Bachelor in Electrical Engineering
  • We are seeking 4+ years maintenance or engineering experience
  • Prior leadership/supervisory experience in a maintenance or production environment.
  • Ability to trouble-shoot and repair electrical systems including power and controls circuits
  • Proficient with MS Excel, MS Word, MS Outlook and Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)

 

Desired Skills:

  • High voltage (12kV and below) switchgear maintenance experience.
  • PLC programming experience
  • Project management
  • Robotics experience
  • Experience with DMAIC methodology (Green or Black Belt Preferred)
  • Total Productive Maintenance activities
  • Proficient in MS PowerPoint and MS Project
  • NFPA 70E arc flash compliance experience

 

Soft Skills:

  • Ability to positively collaborate with individuals at all levels of the plant and corporate structure.
  • Good oral and written communication skills

 

Hours of work:

  • 7:30-4:00 M-F
