Role Purpose
We are seeking an experienced EH&S Engineer to work collaboratively with team members, providing expertise in engineering and environmental health & safety. You will lead and support initiatives that enhance environmental, health & safety protocols, ensure regulatory compliance, and promote continuous improvement across our manufacturing processes. Your technical skills, project management experience, and passion for creating a safe workplace will help shape our commitment to our organizations Vision, Mission, strategy, policies while maintaining the highest standards in product quality and sustainability. Support plant’s Environmental, Health & Safety team day to day tasks for all process and operations of the site. Support and maintain ISO 45001 & 14001 Certifications, and all environmental reporting. Participate with review of projects, plans, specifications, and purchases to verify environmental compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations such as OSHA, EPA, and ISO standards, staying updated on legal changes, managing government permits, reporting, sampling, and waste management processes. Conduct risk assessments, implement mitigation strategies, and design safety programs, training, audits, and inspections. Investigate accidents, near-misses, and non-compliance, providing corrective actions and guidance as Hazard Communication and Laser Safety Standard Owner while supporting industrial hygiene. Monitor and manage environmental impacts like waste disposal, emissions, and resource usage, develop sustainability initiatives, submit compliance reports, evaluate air regulations for processes, and analyze environmental data on emissions, waste, and sustainability metrics. Communicate regulations and corporate environmental policies, support assessments and mitigation activities, and ensure manufacturing process compliance. Interact with regulators to facilitate operations, resolve compliance issues, and address non-compliance events through root cause analysis. Respond to audits, track corrective actions, and manage compliance programs including Title V Air, stormwater, landfill diversion, energy and water conservation, and sustainability reporting. Promote employee health and wellness, ensuring ergonomics and workplace safety. Maintain records of inspections and incidents, prepare regulatory and management reports, develop emergency response plans and drills, coordinate with local authorities, and train employees on EHS policies and workplace safety practices.
Experiences/Education - Required
- 5+ years EHS Engineering experince required
- BS in environmental science, EHS management, Chemical, engineering, materials science, or related technical field.
- RCRA trained and certified
- Extensive knowledge of environmental, safety, and health regulations.
- Strong computer skills proficient MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint (minimum)
- Demonstrates respect and courtesy for others
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Positive professional attitude and willingness to learn
- 2-5 years of Air emissions regulatory compliance experience
- Experience with management of change processes
- Goal and results oriented
- Experience with compliance programs including Title V Air, stormwater, municipal sanitary permit management, landfill diversion, energy and water conservation, and sustainability reporting; and also supporting Health & Safety programs
Experiences/Education - Desired
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH),
- Certified Green Belt.
- Certified Radiation Safety Officer
- Certified Laser Safety Officer
- Certifications such as PE (Professional Engineer), or CHMM (Certified Hazardous Materials Manager)
- ISO 14001 certified Auditor training.
- Post Graduate studies highly desirable, (master’s degree, etc)
- Experience in manufacturing, risk analysis, and behavior-based safety implementation.

The range for this position is $88,484.00 - $121,666.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
