The global Information Technology (IT) Function is leading efforts to align IT and Business Strategy, leverage IT investments, and optimize end to end business processes and associated information integration technologies.  Through these efforts, IT helps to improve the competitive position of Corning's businesses through IT enabled processes.  IT also delivers Information Technology applications, infrastructure, and project services in a cost efficient manner to Corning worldwide.

Scope of Position:

• The IMS Infrastructure technician role will be responsible for working with internal infrastructure leaders and users as well as other IT resources to define, develop, implement and support standardized IMS infrastructures solutions across Harrodsburg, and other division locations as required by business objectives

Day to Day Responsibilities:

• Ensure that IMS work is completed on schedule and that impacts to manufacturing systems are thoroughly documented and communicated.

• Design, implement and support infrastructure solutions in accordance to standard Corning IT practices.

• Design and implement solutions required to meet Corporate Infrastructure standards

• Create proof-of-concepts as well as production functionality

• Provide first and second line technical support to users and developers

Travel Requirements:

• Some international travel required in support of projects

Required Years and Area of Experience:

• Minimum of 2 years practical experience

Required Skills:

• Strong interest in manufacturing and manufacturing execution systems

• Basic networking hardware and software understanding

• Entry level server experience

Desired Skills:

• Strong communication, presentation, organizational, facilitation and negotiation skills (including ability to “translate” between business and technology needs).

• Ability to continuously prioritize and multitask efficiently.

• Positive, “Can Do” attitude.

• Customer service focus and understanding.
