Role Purpose:

Involves the overall planning, implementation, and optimization of all activities and support required for the buying and delivery of products and services, from material acquisition through delivery. Primary areas include procurement and contracting, supply management, inventory management, logistics operations, supplier diversity, transportation and distribution.

 

Location:    Harrodsburg KY/ Onsite

Key Responsibilities:

  • Represents Global Supply Management (GSM) within the plant which would involve engaging Corporate functions, Shared Services as well as Corporate GSM functions as necessary to assure global Buying Policy enforcement; global Customs Compliance adherence. Establishes linkage between GSM Strategy, Business Strategy and Plant Strategy through shared objectives.
  • Assures Contribution Metrics are updated and linked with site/business cost reduction portfolio by active leader/member of cross-functional teams focused on process improvement, cost reduction and supply chain enhancements. Leverages site spend with business and corporate spend.
  • Creates and maintains contractual documents (Supply Agreements, Pricing Agreements, Non Disclosure Agreements, Certificates of Insurance, etc.).
  • Drives site implementation and advocacy of centralized RTP process.
  • Champions and advocates for the Global Buying Policy. Ensures compliance.

 

Supplier management

  • Maintains effective supplier relationships by means of audits, visits, evaluations to review areas such as capabilities and capacities.
  • Develops Risk Mitigation plans where necessary.
  • Interacts with Strategic Sourcing to understand the supply base and market dynamics, support execution of commodity and supplier sourcing strategy.

 

Material planning

  • Collaborates with planning or production control to effectively control material scheduling and planning.

 

Liaisons or Contacts

  • Works with Finance on standard setting and cost reduction budgeting, price forecasting, etc.
  • Is main contact between Commodity and site for implementing change.
  • Is an active leader/member of cross-functional teams focused on process improvement, cost reduction and supply chain issue resolution, new product development.

 

People management

  • Lead the procurement operations, set procurement strategy and objectives for execution, team performance measurement and project executions.

 

New business development projects support

  • Lead or manage the procurement function to support new business development at plant, ensure on-time delivery and no supply shortages.
  • Engages early supplier involvement as necessary in new product development (process design, commodity overviews, IP opportunities, technical advantages, JDA, etc.).
  • Support business/site projects, such as inventory optimization, sole sourcing reduction etc.

Experiences/Education Required:

  • 7~10 years Supply Chain related working experience
  • Bachelors Degree/ Supply Chain Management
  • Global manufacturing / procurement experience.
  • Cross-functional work / project experience (including operations, planning, quality, engineering, supply chain).
  • Experience as a plant or corporate buyer.
  • Experience as managing a plant procurement team.
  • Experience working in a matrix environment.
  • Technical aptitude/capability.

 

Preferred:

  • Experience with bulk raw materials
  • Certified Purchasing Manager (C.P.M.) or Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM), APICS, or certification related to Supply Chain, etc.

The range for this position is $107,883.00 - $148,340.00.  Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
