Corning’s Display Technologies segment manufactures glass substrates for active matrix liquid crystal displays (“LCDs”) that are used primarily in LCD televisions, notebook computers and flat panel desktop monitors.


Scope of Position:

  • Provide operational and project support for plant and business operations working as a member of the Plant Supply Chain Organization, this position will report to the Supply Chain Systems Manager.
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret data, helping to drive and implement strategies by providing operational analysis.
  • The ability to think and operate strategically, creatively, and operationally.
  • Effectively communicate and influence cross functionally removing boundaries or barriers to meet customer needs.


Day to Day Responsibilities:

  • Lead & develop new analytical capability and provide analytical support for decisions
  • Improve effectiveness and efficiency of supply chain operation
  • Provide analytical support to plant operations
  • Forecast and analyze critical raw material supply assurance needs
  • Work with suppliers’ acknowledgments, lead-times, contact information, shipping modes, etc.
  • Communicate effectively with internal customer and raw material suppliers to establish production and delivery requirements and schedules
  • Perform various reports associated with raw material, finished goods, and warehousing for internal/external customers
  • Management of suppliers and relationships


Travel Requirements:

  • Minimal; opportunity for domestic supplier audits and some international if desired.


Required Education:

  • We require a Bachelor's degree (Finance, Supply Chain, Business Admin, Management Information Systems)
  • Understanding of Supply Chain/Procurement processes
  • Advanced Analytical Skills
  • Very strong analytical skills (both quantitative and qualitative) with ability to see the big picture as well as the individual details
  • MS Excel expertise with strong systems skills with ability to quickly learn unique systems (Advanced modeling, macros, v-lookups, pivot tables, etc..)
  • Methodical and detail oriented – ability and willingness to dig through large amounts of data to find anomalies, outliers, and/or errors
  • Ability to juggle multiple tasks and prioritize based on established timelines as well as impromptu requests
  • Capable of analyzing complex problems and identifying recommendations
  • Effectively communicates to all levels of the organization
  • Gains buyoff from key partners (e.g. Finance, Operations and GSM) on project-scope and deliverables)
  • Able to lead and get results as a team member in a matrix environment, on a cross functional team and/or working with suppliers
  • Demonstrated/Education on project management and execution
  • Supply chain experience/education, and understanding of Procurement processes


Desired Skills:

  • Experience/Education across multiple businesses, division and / or technologies
  • Experience/Education with supply chain, strategic sourcing, global manufacturing, and business level decision making
  • Experience/Education with SAP, People Soft
  • Manufacturing – operations, planning, engineering, or procurement
  • Experience in design of system functionality and processes and integration into other business process
