The global Information Technology (IT) Function is leading efforts to align IT and Business Strategy, leverage IT investments, and optimize end to end business processes and associated information integration technologies. IT also delivers Information Technology applications, infrastructure, and project services in a cost efficient manner to Corning worldwide.
Purpose/Scope of the Position:
Corning Specialty Materials seeks a Senior Systems Analyst for an on-site position in Harrodsburg, Kentucky. This role will develop applications for various departments and support pre-existing systems throughout the facility. This may include user data input interfaces (both web and desktop), database development, integration into the Microsoft Power Platform, and modernizing older apps into a new framework. The role will track development changes and history using GitLab. This individual will work directly with the Senior Data Architects supporting the development of MES application systems.
This position may require limited domestic travel to other US Corning Manufacturing sites, with the possibility of infrequent short-term international assignments. After-hours conference calls may be required when working with international support teams. This position will support the on-site IT after hours on-call rotation.
Responsibilities:
- IMS / Manufacturing system support including computer hardware, printers, and handheld scanners, operating systems, custom software, and basic network troubleshooting and repair.
- Design and develop new desktop applications and data entry interfaces
- Migrate legacy applications to new coding platforms including design, development, testing, and documentation
- Manage software development projects including gathering requirements, creating technical specification documents, and communicating status updates to end-users
- Assist users in understanding data structure, data querying, and building of dashboards and reports
- Management of data and databases on SQL Server and Oracle Systems, including table design, creating stored procedures, and general database administration
Education Requirement:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or a minimum five years’ experience in a related field
Required Qualifications:
- 5 years’ experience within application development
- Must have experience with code languages and platforms (such as Legacy VB.Net, SQL Server, Oracle, Data Warehousing, and .NET)
Desired Skills:
- Manufacturing support
- Knowledge of Visual Studio, GitLab, SSMS, Microsoft Power Platform
- Excellent troubleshooting skills, ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects
- Basic knowledge of networking, and client-server communication
Location:
- This position will be based onsite in Harrodsburg, Kentucky

The range for this position is $90,279.00 - $124,134.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position are dependent on hours worked and may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
