Purpose of the Position:

The Customer  Quality Engineer will work with other engineers and technical colleagues in a team environment to continue to develop and implement Customer quality management for the new Automotive Glass Solutions.  This role will work with Plant quality and CPE team and the commercial team ensure AGS has a complete and effective customer quality management and service to achieve good customer satisfaction .  The Quality Engineer will have broad responsibilities driving customer quality excellence for AGS business and customer quality .

The  Customer Quality Engineer will be involved in customer complain management, meets the IATF 16949 requirements including supporting APQP/PPAP activities related to customer quality management; also onsite visit customer to deal with customer complain such as organize onsite sorting , re-judgement , 8D report to customer, maintain good Q relationship with customer and meet customer Q expectations.


Day to Day Responsibilities:

  • Work with commercial, and technical teams on continued customer development, implementation, improvement of the customer quality relationship.
  • Regular visit AGS  customer to build good relationship and on time deal with customer complain-8D report submit , RMA , customer quality performance monitoring,
  • Third party sorting company  quality management including new 3rd party sorting company setup , training& qualification coordination and daily sorting work coordination and monitoring
  • Coordinate customer visit/audit for Mass production  business
  • Collect customer quality performance evaluation such as VLRR, third party sorting report , monthly/quarterly evaluation and report to AGS internally
  • Support CPE for new project cosmetic spec negotiation and inspection method alignment and even PPAP PSW submit.
  • Ontime close customer complain internally and externally , closely follow up and monitoring
  • Flexibility to support internal assignments/proje



  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, or science, Math or Statistics.
  • At least 2 years manufacturing experience 
  • At least 5 years of quality experience.
  • Bachelor’s and 4-6 years, or Master’s and 2-4 years

Required Skills:


  • Strong persuasion and negotiation of critical issues, as well as demonstrated creativity, vision and mature judgment in anticipating / resolving complex issues required.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and lead through influence across the organization and with suppliers & customer
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize responsibilities
  • Experience with IATF/TS 16949.  Strong understanding of PPAP, APQP, MSA, FMEAs, SPC, and Control Plans.  Problem solving and/or process improvement using a structured methodical approach and appropriate application of statistics (e.g. Six Sigma).
  • Highly motivated with a relentless sense of urgency and keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to drive tasks to closure and discipline to communicate effectively with all different levels of organization.
  • Ability to present data and analysis in both verbal and written/graphical form that broad audiences can understand
  • Strong customer relationship building capability
  • Ability to read and interpret prints, drawings, and specifications.
  • Microsoft Office skills
  • Travel Requirements: 20% with periods greater, including some international travel.
  • Proficient in English. Good written and oral skills are essential.
  • Experience in high volume manufacturing environments

Desired Skills  

  • Green Belt or Black Belt
  • Very strong communication skills with ability to concisely communicate key issues and concepts to people at a variety of levels (from high levels of management to line operators working in the factory floor)
  • Experience and knowledge of automobile interior glass or consumer electronics LCD module  assembly industry
  • Fluent Korean writing/speaking capability and fluent English , better to have good Vietnamese speaking
