EHS Engineer

Day to Day Responsibilities:

  • Identify and evaluate hazardous conditions and practices and develop hazard control practices and programs.

  • Establish the safety and environment system and maintain them operate smoothly.

  • Work closely with all departments to ensure safety/environmental compliance in day-to-day operations and for new projects and new equipment.

  • Conduct safety training for new employees and contractors.  And track training compliance.

  • Guide and assist plant personnel with critical environmental, safety and health issues.

  • Assist in communicating hazard control information and evaluate effectiveness of the control.

  • Assist line and staff management in understanding corporate policies and local laws, regulations and standards.

  • Investigate incidents.  Review plant incident statistics and make recommendations for correction of problem areas.

  • Establish the emergency response system and maintain it.

  • EHS data analysis and develop improvement plans. 

  • Work with facility management to develop annual safety goals and objectives.

  • Keep informed on current developments of safety/environmental laws likely to affect the company.

  • Identify the occupational health hazard factors and the regular health check item and monitor employee’s health situation.

  • Communicate with corporate environmental, safety, and health departments regarding program results and any issues that may arise.

  • Assist cost control efforts and participate with manufacturing improvement committees.
    Conduct periodic inspections of plant machinery, equipment, and working conditions to ensure conformance to appropriate safety standards and regulations.

 

Education & Experience  

  • Bachelor or above; major in Environmental, safety engineering or related.

  • Above 5 years working experience about EHS in manufacturing industry(chemical or construction materials preferred)

  • EHS experience in multinational company is in plus.

Required Skills       

  • Basic EHS knowledge, such as risk assessment, JSA, LOTO, etc.
  • Ability to communicate in English, both written and verbal (intermediate, level B1)
  • Proficiency in Office Microsoft toolset (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, (Project – desired, but not required)
  • Good problem-solving skills
