Corning’s Display Technologies segment manufactures glass substrates for active matrix liquid crystal displays (“LCDs”) that are used primarily in LCD televisions, notebook computers and flat panel desktop monitors.
Day to Day Responsibilities:
- Analyze equipment downtime and implement improvements to maximize equipment uptime.
- Perform daily troubleshooting and installation/alignment of equipment.
- Develop and maintain records of equipment downtime and parts replacement.
- Schedule and execute preventive maintenance (PM) routines and work orders.
- Manage spare parts inventory and conduct incoming quality control.
- Implement TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) planned maintenance activities.
- Conduct cross-training for technicians and training for new technician hires.
- Develop, initiate, and monitor departmental budgets, forecasts, SOPs, ISO compliance, and TPM-5S systems.
- Demonstrate strong experience with equipment lubrication systems and lubrication knowledge.
- Possess knowledge of pneumatics, PLCs, PC control systems, LM guides, and motors.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or a related engineering field.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience.
- Hands-on maintenance experience with automated equipment.
- Familiarity with mechanical materials, mechanical machining, and mechanical design.
Required Skills
- Proficient in Windows Office software, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong understanding of quality concepts and tools; skilled in report writing and presentation.
- Solid process troubleshooting and management abilities.
- Proficient in statistics and data analysis.
- Experience with PLC control; CAD drawing skills are a plus.
- Familiarity with electrical control components such as inverters, servo motors, sensors, and signal translators.
- English proficiency at CET4 level or above.
- Experience operating and maintaining FANUC robots is an advantage
Desired Skills
- Strong project management skills.
- Solid understanding of equipment mechanics and control systems.
- Experience in implementing DMAIC methodology and leading Six Sigma projects.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Chinese (Mandarin).
- Strong safety awareness.
