Corning’s Display Technologies segment manufactures glass substrates for active matrix liquid crystal displays (“LCDs”) that are used primarily in LCD televisions, notebook computers and flat panel desktop monitors.
Responsible for delivering high-quality HR operations and providing comprehensive support to achieve organizational objectives, this role ensures the smooth execution of essential HR functions, including employee relations, recruitment, compliance, and data management. With a strong focus on optimizing HR processes and fostering a positive workplace environment, the HR Generalist serves as a key partner to both employees and managers, supporting engagement, development, and compliance throughout the organization.
- Talent Development & Pipeline
- Lead talent identification and development programs to ensure a robust talent pipeline across functions and plants, supporting organizational growth and future needs.
- Drive succession planning and career development initiatives, partner with leaders to create tailored development plans for high-potential employees.
- Support cross-functional and cross-plant talent mobility, and coordinate participation in regional or global talent management projects.
- Value Promotion & HR Project Delivery
- Promote the company’s values and foster a strong organizational culture by actively delivering and participating in HR projects, including company-wide and cross-plant initiatives.
- Collaborate with various business functions and locations to implement HR programs that support organizational strategy and business goals.
- Serve as an HR project leader or team member on transformational HR initiatives.
- Employee Relations
- Serve as a trusted resource for employee inquiries, delivering prompt, effective solutions to HR-related matters and fostering a supportive work environment.
- Maintain proactive and open channels of communication with employees at all levels to promote engagement, well-being, and a positive workplace culture.
- Recruitment Support
- Execute efficient and effective recruitment processes in collaboration with hiring managers and Talent Acquisition team and ensure strong candidate experience.
- HR Data and Records Management
- Work closely with HRSS to provide accurate and timely information during data exchanges.
- Generate reports and support data analysis for HR metrics, contributing to informed decision-making.
- Policy and Compliance Support
- Assist in the implementation of HR policies, ensuring alignment with labor laws and company regulations.
- Support government reporting and compliance filings to maintain regulatory adherence.
- Minimum 5 years of progressive Human Resources experience, preferably in a manufacturing or multi-plant environment, Experience working as a business partner with leadership teams is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated experience in talent development, succession planning, and facilitating cross-functional/cross-plant talent mobility.
- Proven track record in delivering and supporting HR projects, including cross-functional or organizational-wide initiatives.
- Solid experience managing employee relations, fostering a positive work culture, and providing HR guidance at various organizational levels.
- Strong background in HR data management, report generation, and supporting data-driven decision-making.
- In-depth understanding of local labor laws and compliance requirements, with prior involvement in policy implementation and government reporting.
- Bachelor’s degree or above in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related field required.
- Professional HR certification (e.g. SHRM-CP, PHR, CIPD) is a plus.
- Proficient in MS Office and HR Information Systems; experience with regional or global HRIS platforms preferred.
- Fluency in English, with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong talent management and development skills, including succession planning and cross-functional talent mobility
- Proven ability to manage and deliver HR projects, both within and across plants/functions
- Excellent interpersonal and employee relations skills, with a focus on building a positive workplace culture
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to partner with leaders and engage employees at all levels
- Solid recruitment experience and a commitment to providing a positive candidate experience
- Strong analytical skills, with experience in HR data management, reporting, and supporting data-driven decisions
- In-depth knowledge of labor laws, compliance requirements, and HR policies.
- Functional understanding of SAP/ people soft systems.
- Green Belt certification is preferred.
