The global Information Technology (IT) Function is leading efforts to align IT and Business Strategy, leverage IT investments, and optimize end to end business processes and associated information integration technologies.  Through these efforts, IT helps to improve the competitive position of Corning's businesses through IT enabled processes.  IT also delivers Information Technology applications, infrastructure, and project services in a cost efficient manner to Corning worldwide.

Purpose of Position                                                                                                         
•    Monitor daily unit operations and actively assist, or provide direction to, subordinates as required. Perform ongoing operational tasks of organizational units. Improve overall efficiency of projects.  

 

Ongoing Responsibility

•    Oversee compliance and enforce adherence to policies and procedures
•    Meet discrete goals within the established criteria (time, cost, and quality)
•    Ensure all the customer concerns/issues are proactively identified, addressed and closed 
•    Monitor employee activity and performance, provide feedback and coaching to employees, maximize individual and group performance
•    Report out performance metrics, dashboards, monthly updates and issue progress to business and IT leaders as and when required
•    Lead small to medium projects as assigned 
•    Manage relationship with business team, IT organization and other partners
•    Ensure effective business continuity planning & delivery.
•    Ensure all SLA metrics are met as per agreed SLA norms.
•    Maintain and ensure confidentiality of information and materials
•    Contiguously optimize IT process and drive execution.

 

Project Tasks:
•    Support on plant expansion IT system build and start up.
•    See project / application related tasks assigned by IT site leader.
•    Support continuous improvement, cost reduction and capital projects.

•    Work is reviewed for soundness of technical judgment and overall adequacy and accuracy.

Key Decision Area  
•    The independency and quality from user request collection, requirement analysis, system design, development, deployment and troubleshooting.

Relationships
•    Report to IT Site Leader.

Education & Experience  
•    Bachelor’s degree in Science, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science or equivalent.
•    8+ years’ experience in relevant positions.
•    Experience in multi-national manufacturing environment is preferred.


Required Competency (Skills, Knowledge and Abilities) 

•    Experienced in manufacturing system development and support
•    Good IT service management skill
•    Good infrastructure knowledge, good hands on experience.
•    Sound English communication skill, both in written and oral.
•    Good programming skills.
•    Familiar with SQL/Oracle database programming.
•    Good communication skill, teamwork.
•    Good analysis and troubleshooting skill.
•    Good continuous learning capability and adaptability.
