Key Responsibilities

 

  • Execute the business unit strategy and achieve desired business results, primarily through appropriate allocation of IT resources and capabilities. Partner with business leaders and service line managers to understand, anticipate business demand for local IT services.
  • Technical support and management of plant specific IT applications and monitor overall effectiveness in meeting business needs (e.g. MES, Quality, label printing, scanners, IMS applications).
  • Represent all aspects of IT across the customer sites including IT performance of the site alignment to divisional IT strategy. Monitor unit compliance with IT and HR-related legal and regulatory guidelines.
  • Responsible for plant system security compliance and disaster recovery.
  • Align IT business processes to global Corning business processes.
  • Achieve or exceed the IT budgetary objectives in support of customer financial goals while maintaining appropriate levels of service delivery. Responsible for IT budget to include Bill of IT, budgeting cycles and cost reductions.
  • Establish and drive customer IT project portfolio and manage its alignment to organizational objectives.
  • Deliver projects on time, on scope, and on budget through project prioritization and effective resource management.
  • Support and collaborate with business and IT to coordinate testing, deployment, adoption of new, upgraded or existing IT services.
  • Establish and maintain the appropriate levels of operational support against established metrics.
  • Identify talent requirements, gaps, and requisite actions in conjunction with the division manager and HR.
  • Recruit and develop key IT talent according to HR policies and procedures and responsible for hiring, development, growth and succession planning for site(s) IT people.
  • Effectively support the IT shared service delivery model.
  • Collaborate closely with the Division IT Manager to understand and implement programs that drive standardization across the division while ensuring business unit needs are met.
  • Interact with customer base to function as the voice of the business unit to the IT organization to ensure the type and level of services provided fully support the achievement of business unit business objectives.
  • Utilize strong communication skills to interact with and educate customers in the development and implementation of required programs and processes. Lead the organization in the application of performance excellence to improve service and quality to customers.

Experiences/Education

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field 
  • ITIL Certification Experience in a staffs and shared services organization
  • Supervisory experience
  • Performance excellence experience(Six Sigma) Project management experience
  • Strong desire to have experience in an engineering organization and/or manufacturing environment
  • Strong desire to have experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES)
