Corning’s Display Technologies segment manufactures glass substrates for active matrix liquid crystal displays (“LCDs”) that are used primarily in LCD televisions, notebook computers and flat panel desktop monitors.

 

Day to Day Responsibilities:

  • MRO Parts Strategic Sourcing
    • End-to-end sourcing initiatives owner including opportunity assessment, supplier identification, technical evaluation, qualification, negotiation, and implementation.
      • Develop sourcing strategies to improve cost, supply assurance, and operational effectiveness.
      • Build sufficient technical understanding of the products and applications to support sourcing decisions.
      • Conduct market intelligence, supplier analysis, and benchmarking for China-based supply markets.
      • Identify, evaluate, and qualify potential suppliers through capability assessments and commercial reviews.
      • Coordinate lab sampling, qualification testing, product trials, and technical validation processes with internal stakeholders.
      • Ensure alignment with internal procurement processes, budget requirements, and project timelines.
      • Manage supplier selection, business award, migration planning, and implementation.
      • Lead commercial negotiations, including pricing, payment terms, lead times, quality expectations, and contracts.
      • Partner with engineering, maintenance, quality, and operations teams to ensure successful sourcing and transition.
      • Mitigate sourcing risks and develop contingency plans to ensure uninterrupted supply.
    • Supplier relationship owner to ensure smooth operation and continuous improvement
      • Ensure supply assurance through proactive risk management and continuity planning.
      • Conduct periodic supplier audits and performance reviews.
      • Lead quarterly business reviews (QBRs) with suppliers to assess service, quality, cost, delivery, innovation, and risk.
      • Review, update, and maintain supply agreements and contracts.
      • Lead ongoing price negotiations and commercial discussions to maintain competitiveness.
      • Monitor supplier performance against key service and quality metrics.
      • Support business daily operations by resolving supplier-related escalations and supply issues.
      • Drive continuous improvement with suppliers in quality, responsiveness, and cost efficiency.
      • Partner with internal stakeholders to develop and improve consignment processes (if any), material availability, and service performance.

 

  • Inspection Capital Sourcing
    • Lead category strategy for inspection and metrology capital equipment, aligned with global sourcing priorities and capacity expansion plans.
    • Collaborate with MRO sourcing team to ensure alignment between capital equipment sourcing and consumables/spare parts strategy.
    • Support development of consignment/ VMI models, spare parts strategies, and material availability plans linked to inspection equipment.
    • Ensure supplier performance, service responsiveness, and operational continuity for installed equipment base.
    • Participate in supplier reviews (QBRs), performance tracking, and escalation management related to MRO support.

 

  • Cross-functional & Leadership Responsibilities
    • Influence and align stakeholders across engineering, operations, maintenance, finance, and project teams.
    • Lead sourcing activities in a matrix environment, ensuring accountability and execution across global and regional teams.
    • Support factory expansions, equipment / parts upgrades, and technology transitions through effective sourcing execution.
    • Drive data-based decision making through market intelligence, benchmarking, and cost analysis.

 

Education & Experience  

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business, or related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in sourcing, procurement, or supply chain within manufacturing environment.
  • Proven experience in capital equipment / MRO parts sourcing, technical procurement, commercial negotiation and contract management.
  • Experience working in matrix organizations and cross-functional teams.
