Corning’s Environmental Technologies segment manufactures ceramic substrates and filter products for emissions control in mobile and stationary applications around the world.

Day to Day Responsibilities:

  • Keep close contact with DivE US, Europe and plant partners for timely communication and issue resolution.
  • Provide process project leadership for project with intermediate scope, include but not limited to new product introduction, product attributes improvement, cost reduction and new technology or innovation experimentation.
  • Develop partnerships with USA & German teams for technology development & fundamental understanding
  • Partner with plant engineering for effective implementation of process or equipment changes.
  • Provide higher level engineering support for plant troubleshooting and problem solving
  • Lead or provide appropriate support on process issues investigation and analysis, solutions and permanent corrective actions implementation.
  • Work with plant engineering and through them to make continuous improvements and reduce process/equipment variation.
  • Build effective relations and interactions with internal/external customers and stakeholders.

 

Education & Experience  
•    BS/MS degree in physics, ceramic, chemistry, or engineering; 
•    BS/MS degree in physics, ceramic, chemistry, or engineering; 
•    7+ years working experience on process/equipment in related industry.
•    Solid project management experience demonstrated.
•    Former experience with involvement in earlier stage innovation programs.
•    3+ years supervisory experience preferred.
•    Ceramic and/or extrusion experience preferred. 
•    Work experience in multi-national companies preferred. 

 

Required Skills                                                
•    Rational thinking of troubleshooting skill, experience of KT, DMAIC, MEE etc.
•    Strong project management skills
•    Have good understanding of ceramic manufacturing process and rich experience in new product introduction and process improvement.
•    Systematic way of problem solving and familiarity with FMEA and/or PQA
•    Statistical analysis knowledge is required, for instance: hypothesis test, DOE, commonality analysis etc., MiniTab or JMP software experience.
•    Fluency in oral and written English

•    Green Belt or above.
•    Track record for MEE/PEx project leadership
•    Ability to lead/influence "matrixed" resources.
•    Ability to set goals and follow through with a sense of urgency.
•    Ability to work under certain pressure, nature of self-oriented and motivated.

US Salaried:
The range for this position is ¥16,649.00 - ¥22,893.00.  Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.

US Union Free Hourly:
The range for this position is ​¥16,649.00 hourly rate - ¥20,811.00 hourly rate.  Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.

US Union Hourly:
The starting pay for this position is ​¥16,649.00 hourly rate.  Compensation and benefits available for this position are dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement.

US Intern:
​The range for this position is ¥16,649.00 - ¥22,893.00 biweekly.  Starting pay for the successful applicant is prescribed based on geographic location, nature of position, and year in school.
