Corning’s Display Technologies segment manufactures glass substrates for active matrix liquid crystal displays (“LCDs”) that are used primarily in LCD televisions, notebook computers and flat panel desktop monitors.

Day to Day Responsibilities:

  • Provides day-to-day problem-solving support to production and process.
  • AB PLC / GE Ifix coding and VFD (Variable Frequency Drive) experience, trouble-shooting and new function develop.
  • Take the lead role in team to achieve performance improvement target goal, like equipment reliability and capability improvement.
  • Develop data analysis and control according to requirements (Python/MySQL). 
  • Support process development and optimization.
  • Provide trouble shoots to process and equipment issues, identifies root cause and corrective actions.
  • Supports new technology migration through equipment installation, process optimization.
  • Work with equipment vendor and plant receiver on deliverables of the project. Keep good communication, coordination, and follow-up ability.
  • Manage changes, and prepare procedure document as for SOP/SOS, technical reports, etc. Establish control system improvement and develop the most efficient production technology.
  • Weekend and shift coverage is requirement as needed.
     

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree above, major in Electrical Engineering, Automation Control Engineering, or other engineering related
  • At least 4 years of work experience in automation.
  • Familiar with AB PLC coding system
     

Required Skills

  • AB PLC/GE Ifix coding and HMI, VFD (Variable Frequency Drive), SERVO modify skill. 
  • Familiar with control/electrical system components, have the basic knowledge of power supply system.
  • Familiar with electrical control component application, such like Inverter, Servo Motor, Sensor, signal translator, etc.
  • Familiar with data collection and analysis.
  • Development function using python/C#/MySQL...
  • Do basic data analysis using Python.
  • Problem solving skill on troubleshooting of EQ failure.
  • Skill in software of Windows Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, Power point, etc.
     

Desired Skills

  • Project management skill
  • Skill in Excel VBA, VB, Power-BI
  • English proficiency: CET-6.
  • Technical writing, ability to deliver technical presentations to operators, engineers, and managers.
