Role Purpose

The Software System Engineer is responsible for the design, development, testing, deployment, and ongoing enhancement of internal software systems that support business and manufacturing operations. This position works closely with development teams, project teams, and manufacturing stakeholders to deliver reliable, scalable, and efficient software solutions.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical foundation in software engineering, system integration, and application support, along with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional environment. Experience in manufacturing systems and the use of AI-assisted development tools is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities

•    Analyze business needs and collaborate with cross-functional teams to define system requirements, design constraints, and development priorities.
•    Participate in system architecture planning, technical design reviews, solution evaluation, and software development activities.
•    Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain software applications and system enhancements in accordance with project requirements and development standards.
•    Integrate new systems and technologies into development and manufacturing environments.
•    Provide technical support, conduct root cause analysis, and resolve software- and system-related issues to ensure stable operations.
•    Coordinate with internal stakeholders and project teams to support project execution and ensure deliverables meet quality, schedule, and business requirements.
•    Prepare, update, and maintain technical documentation, development specifications, and user/operational guides.
•    Identify opportunities to improve system performance, usability, maintainability, and development efficiency.
•    Utilize AI-assisted development tools, where appropriate, to improve productivity in coding, testing, debugging, refactoring, and documentation activities.

Experiences/Education - Required

•    Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
•    Minimum of 2 years of experience in software development.
•    Experience following structured software development methodologies and practices, including requirements analysis, software design, coding standards, and test case/test plan development.
•    Proficiency in object-oriented programming (OOP) using C# or Java.
•    Experience in database design, optimization, and maintenance, with strong knowledge of SQL.
•    Experience in web application development, including familiarity with backend and/or frontend frameworks such as MVC, Vue.js, Angular, or similar technologies.
•    Familiarity with version control systems such as Git and SVN.
•    Demonstrated analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
•    Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
•    Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to collaborate effectively with technical teams, business users, and domain experts.
•    Ability to read, write, and communicate in English in a professional work environment.
•    Strong technical documentation skills.
•    High standards of integrity, accountability, and professional conduct.

Experiences/Education - Desired

•    Experience in software development for manufacturing environments, including systems such as MES, EAS/EAP, MCS, WCS, WMS, ECS (Stocker), AGV Dispatch, Dashboard, and Kanban.
•    Experience developing Kanban-related user interfaces and reports.
•    Familiarity with frontend technologies such as JavaScript, jQuery, HTML5, and CSS3.
•    Understanding of communication and interaction logic between upper-level systems and equipment-side PLC / OPC.
•    Experience in low-level communication development is preferred.
•    Hands-on experience with technologies such as multithreading, delegates, Socket communication, MQ, Tibco, SECS, and class library development/application.
•    Experience using AI-assisted programming tools to support code generation, refactoring, debugging, test development, and documentation.
•    Ability to assess the accuracy, quality, and applicability of AI-generated outputs and integrate them effectively into software development workflows.
