Role Purpose

To ensure project (or its part) completion to the required time. Provide necessary for the project interconnection with other groups of this branch of the company as well as with others Corning departments and businesses.

Develops, modifies, and designs processes and products using process simulation engineering analyses such as solid mechanics, fracture mechanics, finite element analysis. Develops computer codes when necessary. Works on complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of various factors and offers solution for getting optimal results.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develops and maintains short-term project plan.
  • If necessary (together with supervisor or solely) works with the customer in terms of short-term task determination and technical specification details.
  • Develop and validate physical models within a concrete project. 
  • Reports on project (or its part) progress to supervisor.
  • Supervises team employees’ work, supporting their project work. Is responsible for employees’ development and training.

Experiences/Education - Required

  • University degree in solid mechanics/engineering.
  • 10+ years relevant industrial experience.
  • Knowledge of physics, relevant software development tools and programming languages.
  • Good command of English Language.
  • Good managerial abilities.
  • Ability to travel.
