Role Purpose:

The calibration technician plays a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy and reliability of equipment and instruments utilized in the manufacturing process. This role involves performing calibration procedures, troubleshooting equipment issues, and maintaining detailed records to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute calibration procedures for various equipment and instruments including pressure gauges, temperature sensors, flow meters, scales, and analytical instruments.
  • Identify and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions or inaccuracies, utilizing technical knowledge and diagnostic tools to rectify issues promptly.
  • Make necessary adjustments to instruments and equipment to ensure they meet specified tolerances and performance criteria.
  • Maintain accurate calibration records, documenting all calibration activities, adjustments made, and equipment condition in compliance with regulatory standards and company policies.
  • Ensure that all calibration activities adhere to relevant regulatory standards such as ISO, FDA, and GMP, and contribute to the continuous improvement of calibration processes.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks on calibration equipment to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing personnel and other relevant stakeholders to communicate calibration schedules, equipment status, and any potential issues affecting production.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, advancements in calibration technology, and regulatory changes through continuous learning and training programs.

Hours of Work:

  • Standard Hours (Monday – Friday, 8am-5pm)
  • Managing a 24/7 plant structure, so occasional support when needed. 

 

Minimum Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical certification or associate degree in a relevant field preferred.
  • 2+ years of proven experience in calibration procedures and techniques, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong technical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with calibration standards and regulations (e.g., ISO 17025, FDA regulations).
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Proficiency in using calibration software and tools.

  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

The range for this position is  $45,301.00   -  $62,289.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position are dependent on hours worked and may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
