Role Purpose

In this role, you will be responsible for providing technical expertise across all ingot and wafering processes with specific focus on equipment engineering and design, thereby ensuring production of high-quality solar Ingot and wafer products. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary technical expert resource for equipment design, equipment maintenance, equipment improvements for all processes involved in making SOLAR ingots and wafers.
  • Identify opportunities for process optimization via equipment and process design improvements to improve equipment uptime and yield, reduce costs, and enhance overall efficiency.
  • Lead efforts to troubleshoot technical issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions to address equipment reliability, process deviations and improve process reliability.
  • Provide technical training and mentorship to engineering and manufacturing personnel to enhance their skills and knowledge in ingots and wafer manufacturing equipment.
  • Serve as a guide to develop/enhance equipment maintenance procedures and recommend improvements to extend useful equipment and tooling/consumable life

Experiences/Education - Required

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in engineering, materials science, or a related field

  • 10+ years of broad equipment and process experience in Solar or Semiconductor wafer manufacturing or a closely related field, with a proven track record of technical leadership and expertise. 

  • In-depth knowledge of solar or semiconductor wafer manufacturing equipment and processes.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify root causes of technical issues and implement effective solutions.  

 

Experiences/Education - Desired

  • Stay informed about industry trends and emerging technologies and advancements in Solar wafer manufacturing, equipment, and materials, and evaluate their potential impact on Corning process performance and product quality. 
  • Collaborate closely with R&D, engineering, operations, and quality assurance teams to drive cross-functional initiatives and resolve technical challenges.
  • Leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively lead cross-functional teams, mentor junior engineers, and communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

The range for this position is $147,927.00 - $203,400.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position are dependent on hours worked and may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
