Role Purpose
HR Consultant role supporting the Hemlock, Michigan site at the Hemlock Wafers Plant, with primary focus on conducting employee investigations and analyzing findings to support proactive and preventive measures that facilitate operational effectiveness and foster a positive and compliant workplace culture. This role will also provide employee relations and investigations support, as needed, to other plant sites within the Solar MAP. The ideal candidate is passionate about employee relations, has strong problem-solving skills, and is interested in developing toward a future HR Manager role.
Key Responsibilities
• Collaborate with Corporate Employee Relations, Plant Human Resource Managers, and Legal to conduct thorough and confidential investigations into employee complaints, workplace conflicts, and incidents.
• Gather and analyze evidence, interview involved parties, and document findings clearly and concisely.
• Ensure investigations comply with company policies, applicable federal/state labor laws, and ethical standards.
• Partner with HR leadership to analyze investigation findings and identify opportunities to reduce recurring issues.
• Collaborate with HR leadership, Corporate ER and other COEs to develop and implement processes to share best practices, roactive strategies, and training to address workplace challenges.
• Collaborate with management to promote a fair and inclusive environment aligned with Corning values.
• Manage the ADA accommodation process and collaborates with Legal as needed to ensure compliance.
• Maintain accurate and confidential records of investigations, findings, and resolutions.
• Prepare regular reports and metrics for HR leadership, highlighting trends and areas for improvement.
• Demonstrate investment in personal and professional growth in preparation for future HR leadership roles.
• Support the broader HR team on additional initiatives/projects to build experience across key HR functions.
Experiences/Education - Required
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required.
• 5+ years of HR experience with a focus on employee relations, investigations, or conflict resolution preferred.
• Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to handle sensitive situations with discretion and professionalism.
• Knowledge of employment laws and regulations (federal and Michigan-specific; additional multi-state exposure a plus given Solar MAP coverage).
• Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Leadership Aspirations: Demonstrated interest in pursuing a career path toward HR plant management roles.
This position does not support immigration sponsorship. The range for this position is $79,519.00 - $109,339.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
