Role Purpose
Provides support for day-to-day manufacturing operations. Designing and troubleshooting production equipment including packaging systems, logic controllers, power distribution, vision systems, safety devices, automated guided vehicles, and sensors. The candidate will work on assignments including designing systems integrated with existing plant equipment. The candidate will have a working knowledge of industrial machinery control techniques and best practices for design implementation.
Key Responsibilities
- The primary responsibility will be to support machinery throughout the plant.
- Support engineering technicians, establish, sets technical direction, and ensures compliance with plant standards.
- Maintain functionality of controls through coordination with maintenance and operations.
- Develop and maintain documentation on control systems throughout the departments.
- Responsible for designing, developing, integrating, troubleshooting, and debugging.
- Provide training for engineers and technicians as needed for new processes, equipment, or control systems.
- Provide weekend and evening support as necessary to support 24/7 operations.
- Project focus will be on receiving, developing and supporting new assets.
- Ensure that the equipment meets plant/industry standards and utilizes leading edge technology and process capability to gain competitive advantage.
Work Hours
- Standard Hours (Monday – Friday, 8am-5pm)
- Flexible hours may be required to support weekends/evenings operations requirements
Education & Experience - Required
- Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering OR Electrical Engineering
- 3+ years of work experience in measurement science, measurement systems, or related area.
- Experience integrating systems into advanced manufacturing processes
Required Skills
- Strong electro-mechanical skills with demonstrated experience in the successful implementation of automation and control system integration technologies in manufacturing processes.
- Able to effectively work with external machine builders and system integrators for design, build and integration of later stages of machine system implementation.
- Experience in creating schedules and meeting deadlines
- Strong team player who takes personal ownership for their areas of responsibility
- Capable of executing project assignments with minimal supervision
- Effective problem solving and decision-making skills, with focus on safety.
Desired Skills
- Knowledgeable of machine design standards such as NFPA, IEC, ANSI, ISO
- Experience in programming logic, HMI and safety controllers
- Designing/reviewing CAD schematics for electrical, pneumatic and fluid power systems for industrial equipment
- Knowledge of safety control system design such as safety risk assessment, perform level adherence and validation and verification strategies
- Knowledge of the Performance Excellence programs (DMAIC, KT, etc.)

The range for this position is $83,839.00 - $115,279.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position are dependent on hours worked and may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
