Purpose of the Position: The maintenance technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing manufacturing machinery equipment, and facilities equipment. This position ensures that production runs efficiently and safely by performing preventative maintenance, diagnosing issues, and implementing repairs as needed. Key Responsibilities Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of machinery and equipment to prevent unexpected breakdowns and ensure optimal performance. Diagnose mechanical issues and perform repairs on various types of manufacturing equipment, including conveyors, motors, pumps, and production machines. Identify and resolve equipment malfunctions, utilizing technical manuals, schematics, and experience to determine the root cause of problems. Assist in the installation, testing, and commissioning of new machinery and equipment. Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety regulations and company policies. Maintain a clean and safe work environment. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work performed, parts used, and time spent on each task. Work closely with production supervisors, machine operators, and other maintenance staff to ensure minimal disruption to production schedules. Monitor and manage inventory of spare parts and maintenance supplies. Order new parts and supplies as needed. Provide guidance and training to junior maintenance staff and machine operators on proper equipment usage and basic troubleshooting techniques. Suggest and implement improvements to maintenance processes and equipment to enhance reliability and efficiency. Additional equipment maintenance and facilities maintenance PM and repair activities could include filter changing, oil changing, leak repairs, ballast replacement, hoist repairs, conveyers, pumps, compressed air system, vacuum systems, RTO, HVAC, growth furnaces, wire saws, mist collectors, ventilation, flooring, doors, windows, roofs, signage, furniture, general office equipment, lighting, painting, general cleaning, light electrical, plumbing, etc. Qualifications: High school diploma and certified as a maintenance mechanic or maintenance technician tradesman. 2+ years of work experience with strong basic electrical understanding and mechanical aptitude. Vocational certification is not needed if the general industrial maintenance experience is over 4+ years. Demonstrate strong analytical and troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, issues efficiently. Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment. Effective verbal and written communication skills to interact with colleagues, convey technical information, and document work activities accurately. Willingness to learn about new technologies and adapt to changing work requirements. Flexibility to 2-3-2 pitman schedule/shifts, overtime, and weekends as needed to support production schedules and maintenance needs. Can read electrical drawings/schematics, working knowledge of 'Lock out Tag Out' principles, Tools used in mechanical trades, fundamental understanding of basic electrical and mechanical equipment, and basic circuitry. The range for this position is ​$23.00 hourly rate - $35.00  hourly rate.  Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
