Purpose of the Position: As a quality operator in our solar manufacturing facility, you will be responsible for ensuring that all aspects of our production process adhere to established quality standards and procedures. You will play a crucial role in identifying and addressing quality issues, conducting inspections, and implementing corrective actions to uphold the highest levels of product quality and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct visual inspections of materials, components, and finished products at various stages of the manufacturing process to identify defects, deviations from specifications, and quality issues.
Perform dimensional and functional checks using precision measuring instruments, gauges, and testing equipment to verify compliance with technical specifications and quality standards.
Record inspection results accurately and promptly using appropriate documentation and record-keeping systems.
Communicate quality issues and non-conformities to relevant personnel, including production operators, supervisors, and quality assurance staff, and collaborate on corrective actions.
Assist in root cause analysis and problem-solving activities to determine the underlying causes of quality issues and implement effective corrective and preventive actions.
Monitor and enforce compliance with quality management systems, standards, and procedures.
Participate in internal audits and quality assessments to evaluate the effectiveness of quality control processes and identify opportunities for improvement.
Provide training and guidance to production operators and other personnel on quality requirements, inspection techniques, and quality improvement initiatives.
Support continuous improvement efforts by contributing ideas and suggestions for process optimization, waste reduction, and quality enhancement.
Maintain a clean and organized work environment and adhere to all safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe and healthy workplace.
Qualifications
Must be at least 18 years of age and possess a high school diploma or GED.
Attention to detail and ability to perform repetitive tasks with precision.
Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot issues as they arise.
Ability to lift heavy objects and stand for extended periods. You will be required to lift a maximum of 50 pounds.
You will be required to lift, bend, squat, wear a respirator/mask, and be dressed in proper PPE.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with auditing and supplier quality management.
Experience with statistical process control (SPC) and quality improvement methodologies, such as Six Sigma and lean manufacturing.
