Purpose of the Position:  The Trades leader will oversee day-to-day maintenance technician and skilled trades operations, ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and safety plant production equipment. This hands-on leader will utilize their skilled trades expertise and tools (electrician, pipefitter, millwright, or maintenance technician) to support maintenance teams, troubleshoot equipment issues, and coordinate preventative and corrective maintenance activities in a planned and scheduled environment.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily maintenance operations of production equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental standards.
  • Lead maintenance technicians and skilled trades in performing preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance.
  • Coordinate daily maintenance tasks for operational efficiency.
  • Troubleshoot and repair complex equipment failures.
  • Perform hands-on maintenance work and train team members.
  • Improve and oversee preventative maintenance programs.
  • Document work performed in maintenance management systems.
  • Collaborate with engineers, facilities team, contractors, and vendors for repairs and maintenance.
  • Train and mentor team members.

 

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Journeyman certification in a skilled trade preferred.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in a skilled trade role or technical maintenance role.
  • Previous experience supervising trades or acting as a lead technician is a plus.
  • Proficiency in at least one skilled trade.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and equipment manuals.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Familiarity with industrial systems.
  • Effective communication and team coordination skills.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and compliance in all maintenance work.

The range for this position is $38.00  to $46.00 hourly rate. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401Kk) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage disability benefits, and PTO.
