Purpose of the Position:

This role is essential for maintaining reliable, safe, and energy-efficient wastewater systems that align with the facility's objectives and operational goals. The Wastewater Treatment Engineer will oversee and optimize wastewater systems to ensure compliance with stringent environmental regulations while supporting seamless manufacturing processes. The ideal candidate will bring advanced mechanical aptitude, strong environmental expertise, and relevant certifications to drive system performance and sustainability.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain wastewater treatment systems to meet semiconductor production standards.
  • Design and optimize treatment processes for efficiency and compliance.
  • Analyze plant performance data to identify and implement improvements.
  • Collaborate with production and compliance teams to integrate wastewater processes seamlessly.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal environmental regulations.
  • Optimize processes for pollutant removal, solids separation, disinfection, and cost efficiency.
  • Conduct regulatory assessments to mitigate compliance risks.
  • Develop and maintain SOPs for consistent plant operations.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues using advanced mechanical skills.
  • Implement chemical and biological treatment methods for pollutant removal and BOD/COD reduction.
  • Manage technology upgrades and system improvements.
  • Provide training to operators, promoting safety and efficiency.
  • Prepare and present plant performance reports to management.

 

Work Hours:

  • Monday – Friday, 8am–5pm; occasional off-hours support for 24/7 plant operations.
 

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental, Chemical, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
  • 5+ years in wastewater engineering, preferably with industrial or semiconductor systems.
  • Advanced mechanical aptitude and expertise in wastewater plant operations.
  • Strong knowledge of environmental regulations and best practices.
  • Relevant wastewater treatment or environmental engineering certifications preferred.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills for complex data and technical issues.
  • Proficiency in engineering software and tools for wastewater systems.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills in fast-paced environments.
 

Required Skills:

  • Expertise in physical, chemical, and biological wastewater treatment methods.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements like NPDES permits and effluent standards.
  • Experience with wastewater modeling software.
  • Analytical problem-solving skills for technical troubleshooting.
  • Effective communication and cross-functional collaboration.

The range for this position is $94,161.00 - $129,472.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position are dependent on hours worked and may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan,
