Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.
Position Summary:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Process Engineer Supervisor to lead and manage a team of Process Engineers and Technicians, with indirect oversight of Controls Engineering and Maintenance. Your mission will be to deliver continuous improvements in safety, cost, capability, and systems through innovative technologies and rigorous engineering principles. You will spearhead improvement projects for both existing and new processes to achieve excellence in manufacturing performance, focusing on safety, quality, and cost.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic leadership, clear direction, and mentorship to the Engineering team, fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration.
- Champion the application of core engineering principles and best practices to drive operational excellence and technical rigor.
- Develop and manage capital forecasts for projects, including capacity expansion, technology upgrades, and cost-reduction initiatives to maximize ROI.
- Oversee the Process Engineering team to ensure timely and successful execution of projects and business objectives.
- Collaborate with Controls Engineering and Maintenance teams to align on shared goals and ensure seamless coordination.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives, promoting best practices and driving cost-reduction efforts across the organization.
- Take ownership of critical business projects, ensuring successful outcomes that meet organizational priorities.
- Mentor and guide team members, fostering professional growth, knowledge sharing, and collaboration across the organization.
Work Hours and Schedule:
- Monday – Friday, 8 AM – 5 PM (nominal hours).
- Informal 24/7 availability for ad-hoc call-in support as a 3rd Level Subject Matter Expert.
Travel:
- Less than 1%.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
- Minimum of 3+ years of manufacturing engineering experience.
- Proven experience in guiding and influencing teams, either through direct supervision or indirect leadership.

The range for this position is $126,041.00 - $173,307.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position are dependent on hours worked and may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
