Job Description:

  • Monitor capital and project expense spending – during period of expansion in which we expect to deploy over $300M of Capital in 2018 and 2019
  • Gather documentation to assist with auditing of appropriation requests including demand statements, capital and expense spending.
  • Help with managing capital spending to ensure timely and accurate completion of accounting activities, including fixed assets management, period closing & reporting, budgeting/forecast
  • Work with the plant/project management teams on capital project issues as directed by Division and Capital Controller.
  • Supporting of divisional requirements and Corning Finance functions to include SEC and tax reporting needs as relates to capital projects.
  • Help to monitor and ensuring strong internal control environment especially surrounding capital project spending and reporting.
  • Assists with analysis and preparation of financial and budgetary reports as needed
  • Compiles and reviews data for accuracy; prepares trend analysis; projects 1 pager for management
  • Executes routine, ad hoc analysis and reporting to support Division business objectives and business partner relationships (Capital Program Management Office)
  • Assist Capital Controller in monitoring and forecasting expense spending to ensure accuracy and understanding of reported results as relates to Capital Projects
  • Other functions and projects as assigned in support of division and business objectives
  • Strong working knowledge of SAP/PeopleSoft/Khalix/BPC Tools

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting
  • CPA, CMA or MBA preferred
  • 2-3 years practical experience with Capital Projects

Required Skills:

  • Strong accounting skills with global focus
  • Proven analytical skills and ability to link to business impact
  • Strong presentation (written, oral) and communication skills
  • Excellent computer skills; Advanced proficiency in Excel
