Purpose of the Position:

Provide financial analysis support and insights across global sales markets to include Carrier, IBN, Data Center and OEM. Support special projects and requests and use process excellence techniques. Key responsibilities require support in analysis of big data, management reporting, process improvement, revenue/contract review, pricing, planning and forecasting.

General Job Description:

  • Partners with business controllers to provide support for key commercial processes and reporting requirements while ensuring accuracy, completeness and consistency
  • Supports and implements initiatives to improve day-to-day operations
  • Provides analytical insights on ad hoc requests, recommendations for process improvements, and key insights for decision making   

Day to Day Responsibilities:

  • Commercial Analytical Support
  • Coordination of key work stream process improvements in Commercial Finance – revenue and contract management process; price forecasting processes; process improvement and implementation; other programs as requested
  • Develop and implement improved reporting processes; work across the organization and assist with compiling standard monthly reports for business controllers
  • Drive consistency in OCO by assessing opportunities to optimize processes across OEM, Carrier, and IBN/Data center Enterprise markets
  • Determining ways to increase business efficiency and productivity through data driven insights
  • Respond to ad hoc business partner requests for details and information
  • Present/report to management and teams on progress towards goals and objectives
  • Work in collaboration within finance function and other COC functions to streamline processes
  • Develop global process improvements for commercial team, with focus on EMEA to drive and encompass process consistency for SIP, customer rebates as example

Projects involved with:

  • Commercial reporting projects intended to improve visibility/insight and/or ensure consistency across OCO
  • Cross-divisional benchmarking within Corning on rebate processes, forecasting and SIP
  • Global Revenue rebates, ship and debit

Experience/Education Required:

  • BS Finance/Accounting or equivalent
  • 7+ years progressive experience in operational, plant or staffs organization, with proven analytical and project experience

Required Skills

  • Experience with data analysis; ability to diagnose and solve problems from large datasets
  • Capable of manipulating large data sets and using data management tools (Khalix, SAP, business cube/reporting, Power BI, Excel, etc)
  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
  • Experience managing projects or dispersed teams to deliver business partnership and value added analytics, decision support
  • Presenting results and recommendations in a clear and effective manner

  • Possess enthusiasm for solving problems and understanding root cause of issues
  • Ability to interpret data and trends and provide key insights for decision making
