Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

Major Responsibilities:
• Support definition and execution of Global Supply Chain strategies linked to the business strategies and regional supply chain strategies for Corning Optical Communications (COC)
• Develop an SME level understanding of global integrated Ribbon & LT/MX equipment capacity and capabilities.
• Serve as the lead capacity and demand planner.  Work collaboratively with PLM, the regional planners, and the plant planners to integrate the new product rollouts into the capacity and production plans.  
• Maintain legacy and new product capacity models to guide decision-making activities regarding product transition, equipment downtime, equipment conversion, and resultant capacity throughout equipment and product conversions.
• Actively participate on core teams supporting new products. Maintain the product and customer conversion plan of record through new product introductions.  Verify plan alignment among the technology team, demand management team, PLM team, plant SC teams, and the regional planner.
• Support scenario-based analyses to assess the product and conversion roadmap to changing business conditions.
• Identify and anticipate capacity/material/Workcenter constraints impacting the success of the new product introductions.  Drive issues to closure.
• Participate on core teams supporting the development and deployment of new products. Serve as the primary supply chain representative on these teams.


Required Qualifications:
• Bachelors of Science Degree; Supply Chain, Business, or Engineering;
• 2+ years of experience in Supply Chain, Manufacturing, or Logistics operations with demonstrated track record of results
• Mastery of supply chain strategy best practices and philosophy in optimizing operations
• Strong communications, leadership and interpersonal skills
• Superior project management, analysis and organizational skills
• Use of Excel in a large manufacturing environment.  Microsoft Office Certification for Excel 2010 or higher is a plus.

The range for this position is $71,930.00 - $98,904.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position are dependent on hours worked and may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
