Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.
Scope of Position
The measurements organization provides measurement solutions to Corning’s Optical Connectivity business to deliver best in class products to our customers. This position serves as a department-level coordinator responsible for ensuring the success of measurement operations globally. The Measurements Logistics Manager collaborates closely with leadership, department staff, vendors, manufacturing plants, and key stakeholders to drive operational excellence, communicates progress, align technology and capacity roadmaps, secure funding, and proactively address logistical challenges in support of the business strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities
• Work closely with leadership and program managers to align strategies, roadmaps, and prioritize the measurements project portfolio, ensuring alignment with business objectives, manufacturing needs and scalable solutions.
• Oversee logistics operations across global regions, ensuring consistency, scalability, and alignment of measurement solutions with organizational goals.
• Develop and execute project plans for large, complex, and high impact technical initiatives.
• Anticipate logistical challenges and address potential risks in operations by creating equipment capacity forecasts, defining required skill sets for incoming product support, and developing robust contingency plans to prevent delays in measurement projects and ensure seamless execution.
• Partner with manufacturing plants and stakeholders to understand their needs, align on project timelines, define the value proposition, and establish financial justification for measurement solutions that meet capacity, operational requirements, and business goals.
• Support the measurements department staff to secure funding for department initiatives requiring capital, including preparing detailed proposals, presenting to leadership, and tracking approvals to ensure timely resource availability.
• Build and maintain strong relationships and communication with internal and external vendors to ensure the timely delivery of equipment, software, and services. Coordinate and oversee vendor audits to assess capabilities, ensure compliance, and maintain quality standards.
• Provide regular updates to leadership on project status, challenges, and solutions and communicate effectively, while effectively communicating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment and support.
• Champion innovation and risk taking.
• Act as a trusted advisor to leadership, offering insights and recommendations to improve department operations and logistics processes, including the monitoring of performance metrics for department initiatives and objectives.
• Apply Agile principles to logistics operations, ensuring flexibility, responsiveness, and iterative improvements in department processes.
• Sets example and creates culture of safety and environmental responsibility.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field.
• Advanced degree or certification in project management (PMP, Agile, Black Belt) or operations management is a plus.
• 10+ years of experience in operations management, logistics, or department-level coordination in a manufacturing or technology-driven environment.
• Effectively communicate project status, issues, risks, and results to leadership, while providing clear and concise program strategies, technical challenges, and updates.
• Proven track record of managing complex, cross-functional operations involving vendors, global teams, and leadership stakeholders.
Desired Qualifications
• Understanding of manufacturing principals and experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Familiarity with manufacturing environments and processes, particularly in measurement systems.
• Experience applying Agile methodologies and Scrum practices to operations management.
• Knowledge of fiber optics manufacturing principles and measurement technologies.
• Experience working with cross-regional teams in a global manufacturing environment.
• Certification in Lean Six Sigma or similar process improvement methodologies.
Hours of work/work schedule/flex-time:
Full time, 40+ hours/week with flexibility to accommodate global team meetings.
Travel Requirements
0-25% travel domestic and international (Mexico, USA, Poland, France, Germany, China, Taiwan)

The range for this position is $109,120.00 - $150,040.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position are dependent on hours worked and may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
